Bukidnon is a province located in Northern Mindanao. However, it is still considered the Food Basket of Mindanao since it is a major producer of corn and rice. Other popular food products of Bukidnon are bananas, sugarcane and pineapples. It is also fondly called as the Pineapple Capital of the Philippines.
The landlocked plateau is home to the second highest mountain in the Philippines which is Mount Dulang-dulang.

Dahilayan Forest Park
On top of the list is the Dahilayan Forest Park in Valencia city. The great adventure park has a cold atmosphere and features many adventure packed activities young people will love.
The park features Asia’s longest dual zipline by which you can pass through or above the clouds while gazing through the forest tree tops.
An all-terrain vehicle ride can also be enjoyed in the Dahilayan Forest Park which is considered as “Baguio in Mindanao”.
The hotel facilities and food in the park are superb. The views of the mountain with pine trees is an amazing treat for all visitors.
Monastery of the Transfiguration
The Monastery of the Transfiguration is a perfect place to pray in Bukidnon.
The main church has a tent-like or pyramid looking structure. This is the final project of Leandro Locsin, the Philippine National Artist for Architecture.
The sacred grounds of the peaceful monastery also includes a museum displaying different liturgical vestments.
The church, which is a perfect place for relaxing your mind and body, also provides a good view of Mt. Kitanglad.
Alalum Falls
Another must-see attraction in Bukidnon is the Alalum Falls.
The amazing falls makes you experience the sprinkle of water when approaching the bottom of the bridge of Kisolon, Bukidnon.
The majestic high waterfalls are very accessible to the public. It is just located across the colored row houses of Gawad Kalinga along the Sayre Highway in the municipality of Sumilao. There is a pool of water at the bottom of the falls where visitors can take a dip.
Other worthwhile places to visit in Bukidnon are Lake Apo and Badian Spring in Valencia City, Kaamulan Park, Mt. Capistrano, Bukidnon Tree Park and Nasuli Spring in Malaybalay city, and the Overview Park in Kipolot.
Kaamulan Festival in Bukidnon
The Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival celebrated yearly in its capital city of Malaybalay. The festival lasts from mid-February to March 10 which is the founding date of Bukidnon.
The Festival celebrates the tradition and culture of all ethnic groups of the province. The 7 tribal groups are the original inhabitants of the province. It is a thanksgiving festival that was first celebrated in 1974 and is the only ethnic festival in the Philippines. Since then, it has been considered the regional festival of Northern Mindanao.
Aside from the many tourist spots in Bukidnon including the famous sweet pineapple, they are also known for the traditional and beautiful Panay-Bukidnon embroidery called Panubok.
